Rooted in Learning Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and empowering
children of all ages through hands-on gardening, nutrition education, and sustainability
experiences. Our mission is to nurture curiosity and cultivate futures by helping kids grow their
knowledge of where food comes from — and how to grow, harvest, and enjoy it themselves.
We believe every child deserves access to nature-based learning, healthy food education, and
real-life experiences that build confidence, creativity, and lifelong wellness.
What We Do
We plant the seeds for healthier minds and bodies through:
Garden-Based Learning Programs
Children get their hands dirty and their minds engaged through planting, caring for, and harvesting from garden beds.
Nutrition Education & Tastings
We turn harvest into hands-on learning with cooking activities, taste tests, and lessons in clean eating.
Seasonal Camps & Workshops
Our camps and programs offer immersive, nature-connected experiences focused on wellness, growth, and sustainability.
School Partnerships & Field Trips
We work with local schools to bring farm-to-table education directly to students through field trips and classroom collaborations.
Access to healthy food and agricultural education should not be a privilege. Our programs are
designed to reach children in underserved communities who may have never tasted a fresh
carrot from the ground or seen a seed turn into a harvest.
